Afrika Bambaataa (d. 17 Nisan 1957; South Bronx, New York), Amerikalı DJ. 1980'lerde hip hop müziğinin gelişiminde rol almıştır.¹ Afrika Bambaataa, break-beat DJ'liğin mucitlerinden biridir² ve Evrensel Hip Hop Kültürünün ve Elektro Funk Soundunun "babası" sayılmaktadır. Black Spades çetesi üyesi olan Afrika Bambaataa, hip hop kültürünün tüm dünyada yayılmasını amaçlayan Universal Zulu Nation'ın da kurucusudur.³ 27 Eylül 2007'de Rock and Roll Hall of Fame'e dahil edilmek üzere aday gösterildi.⁴
